I put the Halle in Made by Halle.

I’ll find any excuse to host a dinner party. Off the clock, I’ll be caring for my people, crafting, and filling my junk journals. Photographer is my dream title, and I made that sh*t happen.

How it all happened.

  • It’s 2018. A diploma under my belt and I’m thinking what’s next? What was next? I was a wedding videographer at the time, eyeing the photographers I had worked alongside. I learned what kind of photographer I could be, what I wanted to be. It was here that I established Made by Halle, and started working my ass off. I wanted to do something great.

  • I was studying at Kansas State University, getting a bachelor’s degree in Film and Fine Arts Photography. After spending a year of my degree in the height of the pandemic, there wasn’t more I was willing to give up. I just wanted to take photos, and I didn’t even need a degree to do it. I dropped out in January 2021 and moved to Kansas City shortly after. This was one of my greatest decisions. I met my lover, my best friends, and for the first time in a while, myself.

  • What would you do, if you could do anything? I asked and acted on this question daily. Made by Halle grew faster than I expected. I hired an assistant in 2022, Anna. Gosh, this girl and I have grown so much together. There’s nothing more I want to be than everything for everyone. It was then I needed help the most, and I finally learned how to ask for it. It was important that I decide my own schedule, say yes and no when I pleased, photograph cool ass people, and be met with joy when met with the phrase- “I have an idea!”

  • Let’s just say I made it all come true, but it’s a daily commitment. It’s 2024. My days are spent sitting on my patio in the summer months, watching Little Women in the winter, and ordering iced coffees all year around. It feels good to choose myself. To wake up, to feel proud, to share my art, to do my chores, and my best. Even if we don’t work together, I hope you see yourself in my work, keeping me in your pocket for a rainy day. I would really like that.

Kansas City wedding and portrait photographer, Made by Halle, Halle Lang, about me, destination, elopement, couple, engagement, travel

“Our friendship started with a photoshoot, and the rest of is history. The universe that Halle creates is one where I feel comfortable, energized, and confident. Comfortability is one of Halle's greatest strengths. She asked me the right questions in preparation to create a space for me, who was never comfortable in front of a camera. I felt confident during our time together and when I saw the edited photos, I saw that same confidence and light within myself. Her world is Made by Halle, and trust me, you'll want to be a part of it too."
